One of the biggest reasons Netflix feels fast has nothing to do with the movie itself. It's about distance.

If every video had to travel from a single data center on another continent, playback would be much slower.

Instead, Netflix relies on Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). CDNs store copies of content in data centers around the world.

When you press Play, you're often streaming from a server located much closer to your location.
The shorter the journey, the faster the content arrives.

This reduces delays, improves video quality, and helps handle enormous numbers of simultaneous viewers.
